Whenever I buy a fixed-load gift card for eBay ($25 or $50), they always to work when I buy something online. But I just bought a variable-load gift card ($25-$200) for $200 from Kroger, a retailer verified by eBay, and when I was going to buy something, it said that the balance on that card was zero when it should have been $200. I did manage to contact an agent to investigate this issue and I should be able to hear back from them within seven business days in hopes of getting a refund. And just to be safe if this is a scam, I filled out a report to the Federal Trade Commission. I looked online to see if other people had this issue, and I saw this video on YouTube. This man bought the same kind of gift card I did and he had the same issue, and eBay gave him a refund.
I heard about gift card scams, but I do not think this is a scam. I think this is an issue on eBay's part. Their variable–load gift cards may be faulty. Because whenever I buy variable-load gift cards for Google Play, the amount of money I put on the card matches the amount of money that is added to my Google Play account.
Has anyone else had the same issue?
