I receive email notifications informing me that I have a message, then go to inbox and receive notification saying "Sorry, the message you tried to view has expired and can no longer be displayed."
I have already cleared my cache and cookies, signed in/out - not sure what to do now, but any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I wonder if that might be the result of some sort of expired offer, such as a discount on a watched item. I think if the item is subsequently sold to another user, the offer itself is removed from your messages. This is likely intended to prevent confusion, although it sounds like the message being missing is a bit confusing as well.

Initially, I thought the same thing, then realized I had the same issue with several sellers on different items.

Nope...
Just have the email notifications saying I received a message. Then, you click "reply" in the email notification > takes me to phone app > then receive message "Sorry, the message you tried to view has expired and can no longer be displayed."

I’m getting the same thing this evening myself too. Had an email to say I got a message from a seller, I could read what they had written in the email. I have had contact with this seller previously, but strangely didn’t get an App notification clicked on reply in the email and have the same message coming up in the app and on the internet and can’t reply to there message? Maybe this is this a glitch site wide at the moment?

No inbox messages for me either, but they're showing up as emails.
If you respond to the email the message will appear in your sent messages on Ebay but not immediately.

Same. Had an email about a message from a buyer a couple of hours ago. Opened my app and went to messages, but it's not there. Go back to my email and try to reply from there, but when I click on reply, there's no message there to reply to. I googled, and first landed on a thread dating back to 2017 with literally the same exact problem. Started skipping through the pages and there was people having the problem all the way up until now. But naturally, someone from ebay all of a sudden closed the thread due to it's age. I mean really ebay? This ship is going down pretty dang hard at this point.

Reply to the email using your email and send the email.
I did that and my sent emails showed up in my sent Ebay messages.

ebay having server problems??? My replies are not showing up. Tried four times to reply to one potential buyer. If later all those messages show up on the other end, I will look like a complete nut job! LOL

This is happening to me! Has been happening all day yesterday and is continuing today. I can only receive/reply to messages via e-mail, but I don't think the seller I'm contacting can even see any of my messages.

Same issue, no messages in inbox, no messages emailed, but can see the first line of message on My eBay Selling Overview page. Click the reply button, nothing in inbox. Called customer service. Half hour on the phone she finally said it's a known bug, hopefully fixed in 20 days!?! Why would eBay not reach out to let us know? We are missing out on sales!
