For some reason eBay has been changing my listings to "FREE SHIPPING" after I list an item.

This has happened multiple times in the last few months.

As many know, this glitch has been happening on and off for years. My guess is it might happen anytime the dites "selling" section gets a change/update.

I have had to tell buyers that shipping is not free due to Ebay having a glitch in their system. Thankfully, I have not recieved negative feedback for this.

Ebay needs to get this sorted out. Though being worth billions, it is a minuscule issue. As replies have typically entailed the pre-authorized "this is being monitored" type messages.

If any other sellers, or buyer have had this issue please reply to this post. Make it long and last so hopefully we all don't suffer for eBay's technical error.

I don't know what the problem could be but I am sure it is NOT a "GLITCH."

Then why do listibgs change to "FREE SHIPPING" (seller pays) after being posted with "Calculated Shipping" (buyer pays)?

It must be a glitch, unless you are implying that there are people that somehow hack the listings. Or worse, eBay employees are doing it without the sellers' consent.

A glitch is prefered over the other options. Do you have anything credible to add that might help this particular issue be resolved that many have dealt with for years as sellers?

I notice when I list on the app, its defaulted to free shipping and accept offers. You have to go back to check once the listing is active. Otherwise, you will be offering free shipping and receiving offers even if you did not choose that.

...I'm offering free shipping now, but before that I didn't have problem putting shipping cost on my listing...the only annoying thing is eBay constantly sending messages regarding offer free shipping shortly after the listing was posted...

...eBay eventually won me over with nagging...

The issue happens 'AFTER' a listing is created. Listings get changed to "Free Shipping" for no reason.

I'm glad to hear you say that. I've shipped three tokens in the past year with free shipping and I was wondering if I did my settings wrong. Interesting to know it's a glitch... I honour the free shipping and just shipped the item (and cursed under my breath about that).

This reminds me of the best offer "glitch" that wasn't a glitch. Best offer button was appearing on listings and sellers didn't put it there nor did they want offers, this was considered a glitch for many months (years?) until ebay finally admitted to doing this intentionally, citing their own studies showing that sales increased with offers. So yes, ebay does alter listings.

I tend to consider many glitches here to be intentional after this ebay admission.

Adding a "best offer" option to listings doesn't cost sellers anything but time.

Adding "Free Shipping" to listings costs sellers a few dollars to several hundred dollars. For each listing if the buyers are unwilling to pay or accept a refund.

This has been happening randomly for many years. Ebay has not admitted to doing it yet.

I think Ebay pre-loads free shipping because that is what it keeps hawking. I've had several times when I did not specify free shipping but it listed that way anyway. You have to be constantly on guard with the way ebay manipulates your sales listings

Had this problem twice already. Today made an offer for $80 while unknowingly offering free shipping that that will cost $92. This problem needs to be fixed.
