cannot change my country and location

I want to change my personal info's location from indonesia to australia. I managed to find the address and country, but the moment I press save, it says "

This change is not permitted at this time.{e78062-1183635x}"

I need to change my country so I can connect my account to payoneer. Because before this, I didn't really bother to change my info as it didn't affect me in selling and buying.

Hi Velvet,

this has been 5 months since this ticket is open. As the result i cannot use Payoneer and cannot sell as you do not support paypal for sellers anymore.

any chance you could manually just make the country change, there are only a few people with this issue here. I need to be in Australia from Singapore.

I saw a post yesterday where tyler@ebay told someone they had to create a new account because the system would not allow them to change their country location from what was used when they registered.

Tyler, Velvet, can you confirm if this is actually a bug as indicated above or if it's intentional? I don't know if I'm understanding this issue fully. Is creating a new account a "work-around" for the bug, or is this the process now? Sellers move to a different country but are unable to change their location?

As I understand it, tyler@ebay has stated that once a seller has registered for managed payments, that creates an MP profile for them in the country where their registered address is located, and at this time, there is no way to change the seller's registered address to another country after the MP profile has been created.

So, if these are sellers that are registered in MP, that would explain why they can't change the country for their registered address. I believe Tyler said that they do need to create a new account in this case.

Hi @wastingtime101 and @losteine! We knew the site ID could not be changed under our new payments system but I've double checked the ticket for the country update issue, and it appears that certain countries are also not allowed to be updated. That means this block is working as designed and in those instances, a new account would need to be created to continue selling on eBay. I know it's not ideal to start over. I wish I had better news to share. 😔

Thanks for your research. Would it be possible to list the countries under such restriction so those people could stop waiting for the bugfix?

In my case it is quite interesting as I created my account in Australia, moved around and managed to change my country until now. Now I cannot change it back where i started.

Advice was to start a new account - sure - to register a new account it picks ups your email as already registered - advice was to use another email address (not my problem it is yours - thanks EBay)

Why does ebay not allow you to change your country depending on which one you originally registered from? It's really confusing as ebay is meant to be 1 website, but having it region locked and unfixable make it seem like it's a bunch of different websites trying to fit together. Is there really no other solution than creating a new account?

If not then can you please modify the error that we get as users?
