I noticed yesterday when I tried to contact a buyer about a problem with their address that I am unable to send messages....I have 2 accounts, so I checked if I could message a buyer on my other account....I could not- - the 'send message' button remains light blue and absolutely nothing happens when I click on it. I called eBay and reported the problem and they said they will report the issue. I have tried to send messages using both Google Chrome and Firefox - - neither works. Coupled with the fact that eBay recently made it impossible to get buyer's phone numbers, leaves me totally unable to communicate with my buyer.

What page are you starting from when trying to send a message?
See if you can send a message from a different page than the one you are using.
As a last resort, if you go to the user's feedback or profile page, you should be able to compose a new message there using the "Contact" link.

I ran in to a similar issue last week, it was temporary. The work around that I found was to click on the Buyer's ID and go to their Feedback Profile. Once there us the Contact link, you may want to copy the eBay item number from the listing you and the Buyer are dealing on because you can use that on the Contact link message.
Once I did that the Buyer replied AND I could reply to THAT message but no others. A day or so later the issue cleared.
Other options, clear Cookies, Browsing history, Cache, Temp Internet File, shut down and restart
OR try a different browser.

I have tried every available option to send a message....from my orders, from the buyers feedback page and from a few other links that I have found. In every case, the blue "send message" button does work. Again, I tried to contact a buyer on my second account and same problem.

Is the buyer still registered? If not, you will not be able to send a message.

Buyer is registered and good news - - as of this morning my messages are going through! Thanks for your concern though.

I solved it by removing my email [user]@gmail.com from the message. Can't share contact information
