The seller sent a message to me saying that they were sorry about delay in shipping because of weather.
I replied:
"Thank you for your update, I assure you I am in no hurry to receive the brooch."
And received this message.
To keep everyone safe on eBay, please don't send messages that include contact info. Repeated attempts could lead to an account suspension or other penalties. Learn more about our member-to-member contact policy.
What do I have to do different so that I might be able to communicate with a seller about shipping of an item to me?

Is it possible that the form letter was in response to the seller's original message to you?
The bots that send the form letters can be triggered by anything that looks like it might be a phone number, email address or web page -- but I do not see anything in your response that would come close to any of those.

I've been trying to reply to a seller who contacted me and get the same thing, but also in red: "Email send failure."
There is no contact info in my message either, nothing that even resembles an address, and no numbers of any kind.
This is a problem with eBay, not with the messages we're trying to send. It'd be nice to know that they're aware and working on a solution.

Are you able to contact the seller if you go to the seller's profile or feedback page and use the "contact" link there? If you are prompted for an item number, either use a current item or select "not about an item" if the item listing you are referencing has been removed from the site.

I was able to successfully send the same message to the seller through the dropdown in the Purchased Items list, which takes you to the "contact" seller page with the radio buttons. I selected "other" and typed in my message.
Still unable to send or reply to messages in the messages panel (still get "email send failure").

I have not encountered that "email send failure" message before.
Are you having copies of your eBay messages sent to your email address? Is it possible that there is a problem with your email address that is causing the error when eBay tries to send an email to you? It might be worth unchecking the "send a copy to my email address" option or else trying a different email address to see if the error goes away.

No, that's not the problem. I do not have that option checked, and my email for eBay hasn't changed in twenty years. Additionally I had no problems using it two days ago and was sending messaging fine at that time.
When it says "email send failure" and has the warning about personal information, no copy of the message shows up in the send folder. It's obviously an issue with either eBay's messaging panel, or the "personal information" trigger firing on innocent words.
I have a work around so I'm pretty much done with messing with it and replying here. Thanks.
