Why am I being charged again for an order I cancelled and received a refund for?

I recently cancelled an order and the seller refunded my money, so I thought that was it, issue resolved right? But the day after I received my refund, Ebay has charged me again for the order was already cancelled and refunded. Why has Ebay charged me again?

What do you mean by "charged" you again - they took the money again, or are asking you to pay again?

That's very odd though, have not heard of that happening - did eBay confirm the initial cancellation and refund by email as usual?

Sellers cannot charge buyers. The only way for a buyer to be charged is if he goes through checkout and makes a payment.

It's normal to see what appears to be two charges for a purchase. First a pending charge goes through to verify the funds are there and hold them, and then the actual charge comes through. It can take several days for the pending charge to drop off. Also, refunds sometimes take several days to several weeks to appear on your account. It may be that the timing of these transactions make it appear you have been charged twice, but once the pending charge drops off and the refund is posted, you should see one charge and one refund.

This is currently happening to me and I’m very confused at the moment. On December 28, I got a refund on a headset then just a few hours later I got charged/pending charge for 48.08 (refund was 48.48).

Have you had any updates for the situation? In the same boat. Got a refund… and a bit later the refunded amount was charged again from my account. Confused. Not sure what to do.

Yes I read it. I don’t have nothing pending or processing. The refund is there in my account, it says eBay refunded yesterday & then there’s another  -$230 from eBay transaction data 4/3/23 and my balance goes down

Original complaint is from February, 2022, so let's hope the issue has been resolved for the OP.

Same thing has happened to me, got an item the seller didn’t have apparently the listing wasn’t meant to be up so got refunded, said 3-5 working days, today I look and I see a refund for 9.99 then it says -9.99 again… idk what to do
