Did you mean:

When changing photo background to white it removes a chunk of the item.

Hello sellers-- I have been trying to delete the background on some  of my listing photos. I click the background button, it says frame item, which I do showing the entire item, and when I click continue it makes a white background which I want but it also takes away a chunk of the item.  What am I doing wrong ?

You need to have a high contrast between the item and the background, so that the program can tell one from the other.

I looked at some of your listings, and you had books with dark gray covers against a black background. The program I use was really struggling with one of your photos. There's not enough contrast there, so the program can't tell where the background starts and your item ends.

Try using a much lighter or brighter background when you take the photos. A colored background may work better than black. Green is supposed to work the best (filmmakers use a "green screen") but maybe not if your item has a lot of green in it.
