What do I do if I paid a scammer with a gift card? How do I get a working phone number eBay support????

Did you find an item listed on another site?

If you did, about all you can do is report the ad to the site you found it on and file a police report.

There's nothing Ebay will do.

Not much you can do, the money is gone. eBay will not be able to help. Yes it sucks having this happen, people come here all the time after having this happen.

Once you reveal the gift card code to the scammer, the scammer spends the money.

If you purchased the item on eBay you have the eBay Money Back Guarantee (MBG) to resolve the issue.

If purchased on eBay come on back to give some details without "specifics" such as names, and someone will try to steer you in the right direction.

If you purchased via a "fake" listing/ad from another site, and not actually on eBay then eBay has no way to help you.
