The eBay website currently supports FIDO2 security keys (such as YubiKey) for secure login. However, it appears eBay only supports a single key registration. Most security key manufacturers recommend registering multiple keys with each website to protect against individual key failure/loss.
Does eBay have plans to allow for simultaneous registration of more than one FIDO2 security key in the future?

I'm looking for the same thing. Pretty silly not to allow multiple keys to be registered. Please add this ablity.

SERIOUSLY. Come on, eBay! Zero is almost better than one. PLEASE allow 2, 3 and more keys!

Agreed - come on eBay!

This is a dumpster fire. Ebay isn't using fido for 2fa, they are using fido as an alternative login method. I much prefer something you have and something you know to something you have -or- something you know. However as everyone else is saying I want to register more than one key so key loss is not catastrophic.

FIDO2 is already inherently 2FA. The hardware token is something your have and the PIN or biometric that unlocks that specific token is something you know or something you are. FIDO2 intended to be used instead of a password, not with one. Microsoft are using it exactly the same way, to replace passwords.
Unlink eBay, Microsoft also support adding multiple FIDO2 keys to an account, because that's the way it's supposed to be used. eBay, get with the program!

Today in 2023 it is prehistoric such a platform that only allows adding a physical security key.

eBay come on, what the hell?! Only ONE security key? 2 is 1. 1 is none. This is stupid.

eBay, come on still only one??? Are you even serious about the security?

I just added a security key, went to get my second and third one, no luck, so I deleted the first one.

I just tried to register a second key, but you simply can't, which seems rather pointless because you ALWAYS need a back-up, yet ebay don't allow this. How peculiar!
However, I suppose it's a good start from ebay, but that's all it is - a good idea but not particularly well-executed.
Perhaps when they next review their security policies and processes they might want to consider the above!

Yep. Same thing. I got prompted to add a key and got excited and added my primary key. Went to add my backup keys and NOPE. Adding backup keys is still not an option in February 2024. Come on eBay. You can do this. Its not THAT HARD. So without a backup key, I decided to remove my primary key as well.

Yeah come on Ebay, adoption is the best way to accelerate this type of online security, the more adopters the cheaper it will become for people = more adoption = safer online experience overall, together we can make this mainstream, I envision a day that 2 keys ship with new computers in the parts box.

I am a newbie at Ebay. I gave it more consideration, when it was posted everywhere as a buying site that accepted Security Keys....but I can't even find that option at all! It says I can have a text to my phone, or an Authentification app, but I don't see anywhere- where I can use 1 Key. There're all about broadcasting Passkeys, but I even searched the EBay help section, and came up with nothing. Can someone point me in that direction? I have nothing to lose at this point. I haven't bought or sold anything. If my Key breaks, I can just make a new account. But I can agree with everyone in the discussion, if this is still true in June 2024, allowing only 1 Security Key is absurd. I'm scared to think how EBay guards all its customer's information.

June 2024, looks like it is still the same... so I also removed the single key.
