Undeliverable: "Tell us what you think about the Seller Hub Orders updates!"

brian_burke@ebay : I've sent in two comments so far on the latest attempts at revising the Sold Items page, both of which bounced due to Unknown Sender errors:

Your message to DL-eBay-selling-mesh-orders@ebay.com couldn't be delivered.
The group DL-eBay-selling-mesh-orders only accepts messages from people in its organization or on its allowed senders list, and your email address isn't on the list.

What follows is a laundry list of steps to take in order to rectify the bouncing, mainly for the administrators maintaining the account soliciting the feedback comments. I can forward the whole thing if it's really needed, but the gist of it seems to be that someone has coded the Comments link to send user feedback to a secure internal email alias by mistake.

@a_c_green That is an internal distribution list. I'm unaware of those ever being available to individuals outside the eBay organization.

Drop me the issues and I will forward them, or post them in this forum and tag me.

Thank you.

I had the same thing happen to me twice yesterday.   Thanks for posting this so now I know it is not just me.

My thoughts also... ðŸ™‚ I thought the most likely answer for the bounce messages, given their verbiage, was that someone left an internal address alias in the code when releasing it to Production (or Beta testing or whatever), instead of the destination for wherever user comments are supposed to go.

brian_burke@ebay : Okay, I can't test them again as I have not seen that particular version of the Manage All Orders page since the day I encountered them, but what I found was that the order of Sold items had changed from my usual default setting of Newest First ("Date Buyer Paid") to some other ordering; I can't recall exactly what at this moment.

The problem arose when I found I could no longer click on the Date Buyer Paid column to sort the results by that value (in either direction, a standard Windows practice for table columns; clicking the heading reverses the order as desired). The "Sort by" pulldown menu showed a Date Buyer Paid option, but selecting that gave me Oldest First ordering, with entries from last May, not very useful. ("Date Sold" would seem like another logical ordering that someone might want to choose, but sorting by Date Sold is not available at all.)

Here's where I went astray: I fired off the first comment to complain about the apparent inability to sort the entries chronologically in any useful way. After I sent that off, I tried banging on the new page a bit more, and it finally dawned on me to try going through the whole pulldown-menu-choose-Date-Buyer-Paid option choice again, and this time it came up in the opposite order from before, now as Newest First.

So that was the roundabout solution on the test page for getting the desired Sort ordering, and it does remember the setting after that, but really: it would be more reasonable (and consistent with standard practice) to make each and every table column sortable in either direction by simply clicking on its heading as desired. Right now, in the Production version of the Seller Hub Orders page, only the Order Total and Date Buyer Paid columns are working headings for Sort ordering. It does not appear that you can sort by any other default column at all. (Date Sold seems like a major oversight in that regard.)

What had me really concerned was that the new test version seemed to have even less functionality than the Production version it was replacing, in terms of clickable column heads. I sent in a second comment after discovering the workaround for finding the desired Date Buyer Paid, and as I wrote there, "It should be possible to choose Sort By selections by simply clicking on the column heading either once or twice, depending on the desired ordering direction, as is standard Windows practice."

I had one other comment in the first message that bounced, in reply to the question of whether I had any other comments about the Seller Hub experience, which I think bears repeating here:

"You need to announce proposed revisions in advance. Explain what problems you are trying to solve. Have actual dialogue with users about what they want and need."

Thank you very much for your attention!

Hi brian_burke@ebay : Our situation has not improved. As shown here:

https://community.ebay.com/t5/Selling/New-un-improvement-Slide-bars-on-order-page/m-p/33962924#M2269...

...as well as some other threads, user comments submitted in response to the unannounced test of a new Orders page are still bouncing back to the sender due to an invalid sender address, despite that being reported last week.

Obviously, releasing a test page to solicit comments without a working method of collecting those comments is a bit pointless. While I assume you have been relaying problem reports manually back to whoever coded the new page, can you please tell us why that test page has still not been yanked as soon as it became apparent that no one could communicate back the problems that it contained? Thanks.

Re: Undeliverable: "Tell us what you think about the Seller Hub Orders updates!"

I submitted feedback a short while ago and got the same error.

From the Seller Hub > Orders page

Top right click the Comments link

Fill out survey and submit

Results in bounced email as described in the OP brian_burke@ebay . Based on numerous posters reporting the same in different discussions here, no seller feedback is getting through.

@wastingtime101

Can you complete the form as you list above and DM me if you continue to get a bounce? I just went through the link in Seller Hub and I was able to complete the form and submit it with no bounce.

Still bouncing brian_burke@ebay . Submitted FB again, got the confirmation screen, and almost immediately the undeliverable message appeared in my email SPAM folder.

It’s been like this for months. Just omit your email from the email field and it will go through. Put your email in the body.

The bounce is apparently not immediate. Various reports state that it occurs anywhere from a few hours to a few days later.
