Unable to send message

I have sold an item and wanted to thank buyer and let them the item has been shipped. But message will not go through/ I have tried three different web browser on PC and my phone

If you shipped using labels purchased on eBay, your buyer already knows the item has shipped because they receive an email notification, so no need to send messages. 
ETA…there seems to be a site wide issue with messages. Seeing a few complaints in the forum about it.
