Hi,
So I have an unusual situation. My Mom (who is one of the least tech saavy people I know) bought me a tablet that I'd selected on ebay, for Christmas. She could not remember the password to her ebay account, so she logged on as a guest when she made this purchase.
When I received the tablet, it was not as described. The problem is that the tablet was not wiped of the previous owner's info & it has a lock on it. I don't want to return the tablet, I just want the seller to either factory reset it for me or send me a new tablet.
Where i am running in to the issue, is the fact that my Mother purchased the tablet while logged in as a guest. I have 2 emails proving that she purchased this tablet. One that confirms the purchase and one that confirms that the tablet had been shipped. There is no info on these emails regarding who the seller is, therefore I have no way to contact them, nor can I look up the purchasing history on my Mom's ebay account, since she was logged in as a guest. When I try to open a claim (because I am logged in now on my personal ebay account) I am unable to, since I haven't made any purchases on this account recently.
How do I proceed from here?

I have both the item Id# & the transaction Id #. Can I file a claim from that info? How would I do that?

Call eBay. Click on Help & Contact at either the bottom right or top of your screen of most pages when viewed on a computer for the phone number.
