Trying to find my old ebay account

I hope I'm posting this in the right place.

How long does eBay keep accounts open if I haven't been on the platform for a while? The last time I sold anything was in 2009. I found my old eBay invoices that have my username on them but when I try to login with the username I get "Oops, that's not a match." The same thing happens when I try using the associated email. Is my old account gone? That would be a shame since I had lots of positive feedback on it.

If you have not signed in to your account in at least the last couple of years, it is most likely gone -- deleted to prevent it from being hijacked.

Several years ago there was some sort of breach and eBay required many users to change passwords; if you did not, your account may have been deleted around then.

Either that or the username was changed; try signing in using the original email address used to register the account in place of your username.

If you are signed in to a different eBay account, sign out and then sign back in using your original username and password.

If you were signed in yesterday, your account is probably still there.
