Time frame for Printing Shipping labels.

Currently I have 2 days to print a label and take the cost out of the sale proceeds.  I no longer use Pay Pal or maintain a balance. If I dont print within those 2 days I have to go to the post office and pay full price.  Is there a way to extend the time frame for printing a label?

You can increase the handling time in your listings.

@redmarebyers   If your account is in Managed Payments you can change from PayPal to eBay and the funds will come out of your Available funds instead of PayPal.  You can change that the next time you print a label, the link is just above the price line at the bottom of the label flow.

I was NOT aware that eBay blocks Sellers from printing labels late, meaning outside their Handling time period?  Do you have proof that this is happening?

You received excellent advice from @biggymoe  and @mr_lincoln

Your 2-day deadline is set by your own stated handling time, not eBay's.  You will still be able to print a label beyond that window, but your account will be dinged for late shipment.  So, to avoid that, simply change your handling time settings.

However, you can switch the label purchase method to your pending funds and still receive the eBay commercial discount, so I would suggest that for simplicity and to provide quicker shipping to your customers.

Alternatively, you could assign a credit or debit card (preferably one that gives rebates on purchases) to your PayPal account.  Then, you could continue using PayPal to purchase labels and it would charge them automatically to that default credit card set up in your PayPal account.  Doing that gives you both the Ebay postage discount, and the credit or debit card rebate.

I'm not sure some of you read what the OP posted.

Actually, there IS a point where you no longer can use pending funds to create a label. This is because the funds are in the process of transferring to your bank therefore are not pending anymore.

So, no, you cannot increase the handling time because the funds are no longer pending for you to use for the label and there is no way to "extend" this.

@buyselljack2016

Is that true if he's in MP and buys the postage thru eBay shipping labels simply choosing PayPal vs his pending funds to pay?  I wasn't suggesting he go to his PayPal account and purchase the label.  I meant choosing it within MP postage purchase.  Would appreciate your confirmation of that, as I hadn't realized it.  Thanks.

OK, I think I was confused 🙂   Got my keyboard ahead of my brain.

Online shipping label discount would be gained by the purchase with pending funds, or PP funds.

The eBay postage discount is always the part that throws me because it is only applicable for some (TRS and up) , and only on Priority labels.

@Anonymous   I was referring to one's general handling time settings in their account for the future, not changing their handling time for an existing order.

@buyselljack2016   There's a little tiny commercial discount for first class for TRS too.  Emphasis on "tiny".  😁

I understand that but changing the handling time will not extend the time allowed to purchase a label using pending funds.

I read the post as this:

A) They do not want to or cannot use PayPal in ANY FORM (so not sure why PP keeps getting mentioned)

B) They want to extend the time that they can use pending funds AND increase their handling time

While increasing handling time will prevent a ding, it will do nothing for the OP being able to print from pending funds because the time would have expired already.

So, even though they can increase the handling time, they still will not be able to print the label from pending funds since the transfer is already taking place and the option will not be there.

@Anonymous

Hi - I was unaware of that, so it is good information.  Could you possibly provide a link to that info on site?  I'd appreciate it because I always thought that they could still choose "pending funds" despite when the label is printed, and if I understand you correctly you are saying they cannot chose it.  I know on my sales the funds are only pending for about 24 hours business days, so if I buy a label 2 days after a sale, it just takes it from available despite my choice of "pending" vs PayPal when buying shipping.     If there are insufficient funds, eBay would take from the backup source set up by the seller.  (i.e, bank account or cc).   Anyway, my personal interpretation of eBay's wording of "pending funds" on the label purchase screen is all-encompassing, meaning any funds in your payment account whether pending, processing, or available.  I know it doesn't say that specifically, so if there is some info on the site that says that a seller can't chose "pending" to buy a label after his handling time has expired, I'd be most appreciative if you could send that so I can be better informed.  Thank you.

After 2 days Ebay will not let you use sales funds because they are already processing it for payment to the seller.  Shipping time designated by seller doesnt matter either. That was my whole dilemma and forced me to go to the Post office and purchase a label at full price.  I dont think changeing anything in Psy Pal will remedy the situation

 Pay Pal is already set up to pull from my bank account so I dont think there is any remedy except hussle to print the label the minute you sell.  You can designate a future ship date too. In my opinion 2 days is too short a time frame to have to stay within
