Thursday, approximately 10:30PM Pacific Time, creating a listing . . .

. . . and my screen hangs up with a grey flag at the top that says "Saving." It won't stop. I restarted Chrome and eBay.com and did  a "Resume Listing."  It continues "Saving." I rebooted my Mac, and Chrome complains about some eBay sub-site timing out. My listing is still "Saving."

Anybody else see this tonight?

eBay often performs system updates on Thursday evenings. That can often lead to unexpected errors.

Upon reflection, Thursday evening is great time for updates if you are an eBay employee (consider, for example, the downside of doing it on Friday evening!) but is probably not the best for users.  My experience (5 decades ago during military service) is that system updates worldwide are more commonly done in the early morning hours on Sunday or Monday.  Of course it's always midday somewhere.
