We have noticed the past few days that the search results & thumbnail size default to LARGE no matter what size you choose in the options. The option size applies correctly on the options tool, except the size doesn't change in the search results. We have tried multiple browsers, computers, clearing cache/cookies, etc.
Anyone have any insight on this? We can't enjoy eBay like we used to without getting a headache within minutes. I'm used to using Small or Medium.
Thanks in advance!

Any difference if you try clearing your cache and manually deleting just your eBay cookies?

What is going on with the unchangeable *LARGE* thumbnail sizes? AGAIN???
you cant change the customized view option at all!
loading pages takes forever!
searching is useless so I'm giving up!.
clearing cache, temp files etc makes no difference.
Thankfully there are much better options than Ebay for online selling and shopping these days.

If search results are slow to load, try temporarily disabling your ad blocker to see if that makes any difference. If so, there may be a particular filter causing problems.
eBay changed something recently that affected search customization default settings -- many users noticed searches defaulting to "Best Match" and a change in the number of items per page and other similar settings. You may need to try a search that provides many results, then open the "Customize" menu you can reach in the upper right where you can change between List or Gallery view and change your search thumbnail size setting there.
If you are using an add-on called "eBay item location -- my country only" and you are having problems changing your search settings, try disabling that add-on temporarily, and then making the necessary changes.

No fix for this still? Cleared cache, cookies, tried different browsers, and even a different computer. Search result images are stuck on large, even if they say Small or Medium. The bubble will move to my choice, but the image size is still the largest possible.

This problem has been there for months now, and eBay simply doesn't care at all. The site is flooded with junks because listing is free. I think they are going down very soon.

It is doing that again yesterday and today and even defaulting searches that I have had bookmarked for several years to best match, large thumbnails and 60 per page although my settings are when viewed on that search still say Small thumbs, and 120 per page. Of these the sort order can be changed and stay. Customize has no effect on thumbs or items per page and I see wallet sized photos for thumbnails.

I've even tried on computers at family members homes, the thumbnail size doesn't change no matter which you choose.

Ebay is **bleep**. I stopped using it for years because of this objective fact. But now I have to use it and all I want to do is INCREASE the image sizes in my search results, because I am trying to scan "lots", without needing to click on every single effing post, wait for it to load, immediately see this is not what I want, close, open another listing, wait, not what I want.
In the old days you had a customize setting, the user had the power to alter their own image results, it was high-tek stuff!
I also remember every listing zooming in when I mouse hover, but now that happens like 1 out of every 50 listings? No idea why not.
If you google how to do any ebay search editing, you only get results from like 10 years ago, all pointing to the solutions we no longer have for any of this.
The fact that Ebay still doesn't even have a dark mode on PC tells you all you need to know about how much they are willing to invest into this site.
