The entire site looks terrible, like the coding was just set back 15 years...

In both browsers Firefox and Chrome, the entire site looks like it did maybe 15 years ago. Refreshing does not help. Clearing cache does not help. Occasionally it will look a little more normal, but the next page-click brings it back to the old look. Does anyone know what is going on?

I would think it was my browser if it were just one browser, but this is happening in two different browsers so it has to be the site itself.

Do you see a lot of unformatted, left justified text and a few large arrow icons? If so, that sounds like your style sheets are not loading correctly.

Usually the problem is browser-related, and clearing cache and eBay cookies should help. Make sure you are clearing the cache "for all time" if that is an option; some browsers by default only clear recent cache files.

Once in a while a network issue can cause a similar problem -- that is harder to diagnose and fix. In the UK last year there was a problem with some third-party "child safe" settings that interfered with style sheets for users of certain service providers. Switching providers or disabling the settings enabled the pages to load correctly once again until the problem with the setting was corrected.

Yes, that is what I'm seeing, but I don't think it's my browser. In fact, the very first thing I thought was that my browser Firefox was malfunctioning. Firefox had a recent update that did not go well. Something about it seemed to crash and stall for a very long time. It's possible something happened then....but the thing is that eBay is the only site I am seeing the problem on. All other sites look normal.

So I checked eBay on Chrome, and the problem was identical last night.

How could style sheets be affecting two different browsers?

I checked Chrome again just now, and it seems fine now. I did not clear anything last night, or today; I just let it alone. All I did was refresh the page. Now the problem is gone on Chrome. That tells me that something happened on eBay's site and they're in the process of fixing or re-uploading or something.

Maybe Firefox's next update will fix it.... ?

It is possible eBay changed something on the site, and the data in your cache or eBay cookies conflicted with the changes. Erasing your cache or overwriting your eBay cookies could fix the issue for you if that is the case.

Try clearing your eBay cookies in Firefox and see if page format looks better after that.
