On March 28, 2021 I had 19 suspicious sales on one seller ID and 5 suspicious sales on my other seller ID. I reported this to eBay and received 15 messages on the first seller ID from eBay indicating they had cancelled a transaction due to "unauthorized use of buyer account" and 4 messages on the other seller ID from eBay indicating they had cancelled a transaction due to "unauthorized use of buyer account." Each message listed the purchaser's eBay user ID.
1. Awaiting Shipment on the Seller Hub shows 4. This is correct. However, the bell at the top of the Seller Hub page on the first seller ID still shows: "PAID - SHIP NOW . 19 items need to be shipped." This is incorrect, since 15 of these transactions were cancelled by eBay. Likewise on the second seller ID Awaiting Shipment on Seller Hub shows 1, but the bell still shows: "PAID - SHIP NOW. 5 items need to be shipped." This is incorrect, since 4 of these transactions were cancelled by eBay.
2. Clicking on Orders -> Cancellations shows the Manage Cancellations screen with "Results: 0." So eBay does NOT show cancellations that eBay made. It only shows cancellations made by the buyer or seller.
3. When eBay cancels a transaction, they do not remove that transaction from the Orders Awaiting shipment page. Customer Service told me how to delete eBay's cancelled transaction(s): On Seller Hub go to Selling Tools and select "View My eBay Selling." Under Activity click on Sold. Click on the small box to the right of the transaction(s) eBay cancelled, the click on "Delete" which is located at the top to the right of the Select all items box.
4. I wanted to cancel the remaining 5 transactions on accounts that were fraudulent due to unauthorized use of buyer account, since eBay hadn't canceled them. To cancel I had to select 1 of 3 options: Out of stock or damaged, Buyer asked to cancel, or Issue with buyer's shipping address. None of these were valid, so I couldn't cancel the 5 remaining transactions. eBay needs to add more options, such as Fraud or Unauthorized use of buyer account or, at a minimum, Other. I'm assuming I will get strikes against me for late shipment of these fraudulent sales, and I called Customer Service to ask that eBay cancel them.
5. eBay does not address the issue of refunding payments except to say: "If someone emails you about a refund or payment, please do not send any money without contacting eBay first." I have $24 from 24 fraudulent purchases and have not been asked for a refund. Had I cancelled these transactions, I would have seen that a refund was sent to the purchaser. eBay says they have credited any associated fees to my account, but they do NOT say anything about withdrawing funds from my account to pay a refund. The Transaction Report does NOT show refunds of payments for the transactions eBay cancelled. And when I had earlier problems with transactions eBay cancelled, eBay did not send refunds, which was fortunate as I had already mailed those purchases a week before eBay's cancellations. The CS rep I spoke with today said eBay refunds the payments made (I believe from my account, but I'm not sure) so that I don't need to worry about this. I'm not sure this advice was correct.
