Technical issue in cart. Cant sign in to Paypal to use Four-Pay. Button just say "complete purchase"

I want to sign in to PayPal and choose 4-Pay, but the blue button in the cart just says "complete purchase" and when you hit it, which I did by mistake, it automatically charges Paypal, without you signing in and choosing your funding source. I had to run to the bank in the middle of the night and put cash in the ATM to keep my checking account from being overdrawn. I figured out that if you choose the Paypal credit button instead, you can sign in and choose 4-pay, but now when you sign in that option is gone. The Ebay-Paypal  interface is obviously broken and there needs to be some communication! I have called Ebay and Paypal multiple times and have gotten nowhere. Ebay just says they have gotten numerous complaints, but can't seem to fix the "bug". Paypal claims that this may be an Ebay conspiracy against them to force people to pay Ebay directly without going though Paypal. All this hassle has been going on for over a month. I need to access 4-Pay because I am not rich and it has been a godsend.  Also, yes I have tried four different browsers and four different devices. I have also cleared all of my caches ect. Nothing works.

If you mean that when you check out of eBay and select PayPal, you are not able to choose a specific payment method in your PayPal wallet but one is selected for you, in that case go to your eBay Payments page in your eBay account and delete the entry for PayPal that appears there.

The next time you check out on eBay and choose PayPal, you should be sent to your PayPal wallet page and given a chance to pick a specific payment method, including pay-in-4 if the transaction qualifies.

Is this a required payment associated with an auction or an accepted offer?

The rules appear to differ on acceptable PayPal methods.

No. Just when I am going to my cart. The auto-pay thing is a whole different issue. As a seller it has done nothing but lower the amount of offers that I receive. If they really care about dealing with non paying buyers they would simply punish buyers who don't pay. A mandatory restocking fee would be the way to go. Forcing them to pay upfront with limited payment options (no 4-pay) just deters would be buyers from making offers.

THANK YOU! I hope customer service sees this, because I have had three or four IT tickets and they said that others are having the same problem and that IT can't figure it out. How did you?

You are most welcome -- glad to hear that worked!

I ran into the same problem in April; I think I read something that someone else had posted on one of the community boards about this issue previously that mentioned deleting that PayPal entry. It worked for me, and I have been spreading the word since.

Thanks for following up. It is always nice to get confirmation when something actually works.
