A few months ago, we seem to have had this issue as well. When we'd add new products, we would check the box to collect taxes at the bottom of the listing, and no matter how many times we revised, the box was always unchecked again when we went back in.
We went through the table to make sure it was properly set up and no problems there. When we called CS, they said to give them 5 weeks to look into it (a little ridiculous when you can't collect taxes, as that's a pretty serious issue). Anyway, about 2 months later it was magically fixed.
Now all of a sudden it's happening again with our newly added products. All of our old items that were fixed are still collecting taxes as they should be.
Has anyone run into this problem before? And if so, do you have any suggestions? Customer service is unfortunately no help at all.

I seem to be having an issue with the fact that I collect sales tax is not showing up on the shipping and payment tab. The Customer Service people don't seem to understand the issue and say that the proper sales tax will be charged if it is showing or not. Of course, that is an open invitation for buyers to leave poor feedback. Frankly, I've not had enough sales here to my state to determine if the sales tax will be collected or not.
I do wish that eBay would change the phrasing from "charges sales tax" to "collects sales tax" which is technically more accurate.
