So now you have to be able to code to list on ebay? This makes no sense. They keep sending me notices about my listings and when I check them on a device they look good to me. I simply go to sell an item and follow the listing instructions provided. Why do I have problems?

No you do not have to know how to code to list on eBay. We sellers are in a transitional time, in which some old practices are being discouraged to make the site safer. There are many bad things that unscrupulous people can do with active content. ebay is attempting to eliminate this.

Once the transition is complete, there will be no reason for any "code" knowledge.

To help with this transition, another member, @shipscript has created tools to help those members who do not have the coding knowledge to eliminate any active content they may have in their present listings.

Read the posts from Shipscript in that thread. They detail the steps needed to check and repair your listings.

Nearly half of your current listings have the Froo gallery at the bottom. If you are still subscribed to Froo, you can ask for their compliant version of the gallery. If you are no longer subscribed, then the gallery probably doesn't display and it will be up to you to remove the underlying code.

While you can "do nothing" for some months to come, eBay will eventually block relists of items that still contain scripts.  Since you are going to continue receiving letters, I would recommend that you work on these over the next few weeks.

You can scan your listings with  the Bulk Scanner:

http://www.isdntek.com/ebaytools/ActiveContentScanner.htm

When the scan completes, click the EXAMINE button on each red row to open the Sandbox tool. Scroll down to the "Filtered" tab on the Sandbox tool, copy the repaired code, and paste that code into the HTML tab or view of eBay's description editor, replacing the existing code with the repaired code.

Since your listings are plain text, this alternate method may work as well.

Scan your listings with the Bulk Editor instead of the bulk Scanner

http://www.isdntek.com/ebaytools/ActiveContentEditor.htm

After your items are fetched from eBay and the Scan Setup screen is displayed, checkmark the Mobile Viewport and Froo Gallery options in addition to the default selections. Then start the scan.

When the scan completes, click the VIEW button on each red row and the repaired description will display in a popup page. If your browser supports this, copy the formatted and rendered page. Then revise that listing, delete the entire description in the listing editor, and paste the copied description back into the empty editor. Save that listing and run the scan again. If that worked, then you can continue to use that method for the other items.

The Froo gallery that is in your older listings is their older non-compliant gallery. Their new galleries now comply with eBay rules.

If you have already terminated your third-party service, then to avoid pulling in active content from old listings, be sure to type your listings anew without using "sell similar" or "relist" to create a new listing from an infected listing.
