Did you mean:

Something went wrong and we were not able to generate the label.

I have been with eBay for many years, but I have never had this problem before.

Ebay just will not let me purchase shipping labels. I go through the whole process, and then, when I click to purchase the actual shipping label, all I get is this...

"Something went wrong and we were not able to generate the label."

Please tell me, "WHAT IS GOING ON???"

Thank You! - Cap'n Jim.......

I haven’t been able to buy/print labels for months. I have called them several

times and they have told

me no one else is having this issue. They had me delete and add all my payment sources. They had me call PayPal and have my eBay few agreements removed and several other things. Even with money in my pending payouts, it won’t let me buy labels.

I'm having the same problem of not being able to print shipping labels. It started about three days ago with the same notification "Something went wrong and we are not able to generate the label". This has so far happened to me in two cases "Both cases were International shipments, one each to Australia and the UK. Both were being shipped by eBay International Shipping. I was able to get a label when I changed the shipping method to USPS International First Class Package, I picked up the additional cost for the customer.

I have also spent the last two days talking to eBay, both of the reps that I spoke to agreed that this is and technical problem with the eBay Shipping Label Program and they forwarded the problem to the Techs claiming that it would take 24-48 hrs to fix (they bettered get off there behinds because they only have about 12 hours left to get it done).

PLEASE IF YOU ARE READING THIS POST AND ARE HAVING THIS  SAME PROBLEM DON'T JUST TAKE IT WITHOUT CONTACTING EBAY AND LETTING THEM KNOW THAT YOU AREN'T SATISIFIED WITH THIER PRFORMANCE.

Anytime I try to print invoices or shipping labels here's what I get. Been happening for days, sales are still being generated, can't get anything shipped. I spoke to eBay last night on an unrelated matter, girl was very helpful, she told me they are aware of the problem and IT would be contacting me. Buyers are complaining asking: Has this item shipped? Whats taking so long? I have over 200 orders to ship, this is pure **bleep**. Take my fees, don't let me ship my items. Just keep giving buyers ammo to destroy what I have built in 15 years.

Have the same issue when trying to print a shipping label with Ebay International Standard Delivery.  Hope this gets fixed soon.  Tried on 2/27/2021 and on2/28/2021  and not working.  Going to wait one more day.

I keep getting the same thing here too. My screen pops up with " We were not able to take the payment" So I call for help and get someone with a very strong foreign accent that is hard to understand and it seems that they are reading from a teleprompter because they say that the technical support team has resolved this problem. And it hasn't fixed anything. So instead of making a smooth transaction it turns into a PITA. Now I have to go to the USPS and handprint all my label's and pay out of pocket for the shipping and then call ebay for reimbursement  and provide the tracking numbers for the items, They are still making money and that is the goal on their part so they just tell the operator to say it will be fixed within 48 hours and you will be fine knowing that the problem isn't going away and you will have to continue doing the same thing with your next sale!

Make sure you're not trying to ship something First Class which is outside the allowable size or weight for First Class. That will reject it. Switch to Priority Mail and it will probably print.
