Searching generates invalid results (bad caching?)

When searching on the ebay.com website for an item ID (example ID showing the issue 315796204680), it will either pull up the exact listing result as expected, or it will display "No exact matches found" intermittently.  This is repeatable with only some item IDs.

Looks like a cache server issue?

Could you please let me know if this is actually an issue or expected behavior?

I can recreate the issue, so you are not alone in seeing this.

Most of the time the item turns up in the search, but occasionally there are no results shown. In some cases the correct result appears under "items matching fewer words", but in some cases there are no matches shown at all.

I saved the search and tried the same thing using the eBay app and got similar intermittent results.

Use the "Tell us what you think" link on the search results page to alert eBay page developers.
