The results that pop up are ridiculous. I put in women's jeans, used filter for size, shipping, and new with tags option. Why are maternity jeans popping up in my search? I have noticed that my search results are getting worse. Why can't u just show me what I type in the search bar. U waste so much of my time that I am considering boycotting ebay. This is such a let down.

If you are willing to provide a link to your search results, someone might be able to make a suggestion to help you get better results. From your description, it is not clear if the problem is with eBay's search itself, how you are searching, how sellers are listing those items, or a combination of factors.

If you are using "Best match" sort order, try a different sort order such as Newly Listed or Ending Soonest instead. Lately "Best match" has been providing more unrelated results than other sort orders.

eBay's search function has become similar to Amazon in a few categories, for me mainly Auto Parts & Accessories. You search for one thing, maybe get a few relevant results, and the rest do not apply to your search. I've even gone into a few of the irrelevant listings and nowhere in them are the search terms I used.

Typically the problem with automotive parts listings is some unscrupulous sellers fill the item-specifics with laundry lists of spam keywords so those listings appear in the maximum number of searches.

Generally the spam keywords are in the item-specifics -- the box at the top of the body of the item description. In some cases, eBay may substitute a similar keyword or correct a spelling mistake; if you do not want any keyword corrections or substitutions, putting one of your keywords in quotes or using an exclusion term will force eBay to provide only exact, literal matches to all your search terms. Putting several keywords together within quotes will force eBay to return listings with those keywords in exact order, with no intervening keywords between them.
