Search results being reduced when sorting from low price to high...

I do an all category search for "photochromic" and get 48,000+ results, this stays the same even if I switch the sort to high to low price, but when I sort from low to high price, the results shrink down to 160.

Search results being reduced when sorting from low price to high...

Ongoing issue that has been posted about many times.

Seems eBay cannot or does not care to.......................... correct the problem.

Sometimes it shows that the # of results have been reduced, and has an option to click to see more, sometimes not.

Pain in the backside to reverse scroll by doing highest to lowest, and reversing last page to 1st page, but that seems to be the only workaround. I'm generally not interested in the $$$$, or $$$$$ items. I look from $ to $$, or perhaps on to $$$.

The "Price plus shipping: lowest first" sort order provides filtered results -- often drastically filtered. And the option to "see more results" may not always be shown as it should. The filtering may vary depending on the keywords used.

If you encounter a drastically filtered result for a keyword search using a desktop browser, you should be able to use the "Feedback" link in the lower right corner of the search results to provide feedback on your search to eBay developers. The more users provide info, the more likely something is to be done about the over-filtration problem.

You can avoid that problem entirely by using a different sort order.

If you have few results, try sorting by "highest first", then starting at the end of the results, scroll up instead of down. This also avoids the problem of variation listings with low-cost variations appearing at the top of the lowest-first sort.

If you have a bookmarked or saved lowest-first search that you use a lot, you can avoid the filtration by adding the following to the end of the search URL, then saving the resulting search:

&_blrs=recall_filtering

Thank you both for the responses.  It is helpful to know I'm not the only one seeing the problem.  I'm not seeing the "see more results" button in this and other such cases, but in the past when I did I would just hit it automatically.

One of the reasons I use ebay so often is the search works so much better than google shopping or amazon.  I started buying and selling on ebay in 2001, so I guess you could say I'm old school.  I like my searches precise and all inclusive, the way I am used to them.  If I want to tailor or filter them, I will.  Craigslist may be the last bastion of pure search on the internet but alas Facebook has been stealing away their listings more and more.   Searching the Facebook marketplace is a laugh.

I've been adding that text to the end of my urls now when I do a search, that is very helpful.  Good luck to both of you in all your endeavors and anyone else who cares to participate.   BTW, I've sent feedback to ebay using the link on the right side of the page.  Cheers!
