Recently viewed

Several listings on my recently viewed are gone, I did not clear my searches. Also only 48 items are all that I can view in my recently viewed. In general seems like recently viewed items is malfunctioning. I have also logged out and logged back in but its still not working.

It sounds like it might be a good idea to throw those items on a watchlist or wishlist or customized list if you're interested in viewing them again. "Recently viewed" is probably not the best way to keep track of item listings you're interested in revisiting. Needing to track more than 48 items you recently viewed would imply you're interested in some of them, at least. Add those to a watchlist of some kind. 

I think expecting "Recently viewed" to track more than 48 items is a bit of a stretch and would probably contradict the notion of recently viewed.
