FWIW: Over the past week I've watched my view counts come and go, and my sales come and go, in unison. Though not proof, it's quite an amusing coincidence. Also, I suspect my sales-off-a-cliff issue that had been going on for several months was a combination of two issues, some kind of stealthy selling limit plus this missing view count issue. After eBay did whatever they did to clear up the "looks like there might be a selling limit" on my account thing, my sales have been increasing rapidly but coming and going with the view counts, just as other sellers have been reporting here. Obviously this all ties together somehow.
(I discovered the "selling limit" thing by clicking on "Help & Contact" and then noticing the mention of it in the "recommended articles" texts, so perhaps this is a way of checking for such issues.)
