I set up a volume pricing discount (Buy more, save more) with promotions manager for everything in my store "Holiday" category. I thought everything was fine until I went to add more items, and I keep getting the error
"Item ID does not match any of your active items". I compared the item ids and they match my active listings.
Furthermore, some of my included listings show the "Save up to 20% when you buy more" in the individual listings and others do not. As the promotions manager does not automatically include the details of the promotion
(Buy 2 or more and save 10%, Buy 3 or more and save 15%...) I included it in the description of each item to encourage buyers to look at other items in my "Holiday" category, but if the listing isn't displaying the savings line, how do I know the discount will automatically be applied to the buyer's cart?
I have tried removing all my listings and re-adding them, but it does not correct the issue. I read in this forum that some people have items in their promotions "pending" for a long time. Mine doesn't even say pending, and there is no indication in the listing that shows it is part of a volume discount promotion, except what I put in the description. This concerns me because if a buyer buys multiple items and they are not discounted, it would be a negative experience and I would have to correct the problem by creating a new invoice with the discount for each item.
I should note that some of my listings have variations, but the issues with the volume discount not showing in the listing appears randomly. Since I revised and re-added items it seems to be across the board)
In conclusion, unless someone can suggest a fix (or tell me what I might be doing wrong) I am ready to end the promotion, which means I will have to edit the description of each item in the promotion. (more work) I can add back volume discounts in my listings with variations using the listing tool, but as I see it I will not be able to discount items purchased from multiple listings unless someone has a different solution.
