To Ebay Staff and Buyers & Sellers,
I've had an eBay store off and on for several years. The last 6 months have been my most active. On July 13th my account was hacked. Merchandise was bought on eBay through my PayPal account which is directly connected to my bank account. To say the least I was frantic. I am not a rich women. I am disabled so having money stolen all my accounts gone through I didn't know where to begin but the bank. 1st step closed my personal account set up two separete accounts business and personal for safety reasons such as this. I then called eBay told them of what happened. They could see right where it was and filed a fraud claim with a # and did what they could to calm me that the money would be refunded very soon. I was advised to call PayPal next give them the info from eBay verifying the fraud claim. Within 24 hrs Paypal had replaced the money back into my account before the bank or eBay could.
The important lesson in all of this is communication. When something doesn't look right call eBay staff right away. Call your bank. Call PayPal. If the proper steps are followed in the line of communication you'll get your money back. But if you are not personally watching the happenings everyday you risk loss.
Ebay staff is there to help. Utilize the resource. I personally give eBay staff 5 stars for professionalism and for getting the job done.Replacement Service Dog Percy
