Please return the 'hide ebay's search suggestions'

Dear ebay,

Could you please return the 'hide ebay's search suggestions' at the bottom right of the drop-down suggestion lists seen when you begin typing into the search bar? Why did you remove a feature that most of us like and use and prefer over what you think we should search for?

Thanks.

It still shows up for me, although it is very small. I'm using Firefox on a PC.

Please return the 'hide ebay's search suggestions'

I complained about this over a week ago. I don't think they care- it's probably a new "feature" that they'll force on us as they slowly but surely remove functions that the users like in favor of what the company execs like. I ignored them in favor of what my browser saved in the search field, which I can't use anymore. While possibly it's an ad blocker issue I can't figure out how since nothing on my end has changed.

And in modern culture anyone who complains about ANYTHING will be tagged as a "Karen" to discredit the complaint, no matter how valid it is. This is also the same eBay that threatened online bloggers who criticized them.

From what the ebay customer representative told me, those who still have it, it is because they are running on an older version of ebay because their cookies have not been cleared. Once your cookies are cleared for whatever reason, then you most likely will no longer have it. I usually do not clear my cookies but I am having issues with firefox clearing cookies on both of my computers even though I have it unchecked so cookies would not be cleared. So thanks to firefox, I lost the 'hide ebay's search suggestions'.

It is not an ad blocker issue. I was thinking that too but checked. I also checked on google chrome and microsoft edge and the 'hide ebay's search suggestions' is missing on ebay on them too. I did speak with an ebay customer representative who told me that they recently did away with it.

There is a work around to it. Go into Advanced Search and you will be able to use what you have previously typed in and searched for.

I don't know why ebay techs have to go and change things that work just fine that most users like.

I think the same,  when ever you get used to a format, they change it...Why clear the option of suggestions..i guess it works both ways...we cant catch a good deal , and they will loose more..They should hear what buyers said...If you want to put the format this way, then give the option of getting back to the suggestions, like they did before...

I agree, this has eliminated my ability to see old searches and reduces what I look for (and buy) on ebay.  Stupid change.

Your old search keywords should still be visible -- at the moment, anyway -- as saved browser form data by going to the Advanced Search page and using the drop-down that appears in the search field there.

According to one community representative, eBay has no plans to restore the "hide suggestions" feature. If the Advanced Search page is redesigned, it may stop displaying that saved form data entirely, so I would suggest finding another way to keep track of your searches that does not depend on that page. Using your Saved Searches & Sellers, or bookmarking individual search results might be a good idea before you lose that data. That way you do not need to rely on eBay's programmers keeping a particular page or feature going to see all your searches.

Yeah, I saw that and I appreciate the suggestion, but if that goes away I'll probably do more on Amazon instead and just drop my ebay stuff.

Amazon won't let you hide the default search suggestions either.
