PayPal seems to have vanished again

This morning I seem to be unable to make a purchase using PayPal. The account is missing on both the payment methods list and on the Linked PayPal Account page, and every Checkout page requires me to enter a credit card. I can't add PayPal via the payment methods page either. PayPal is still listed on item pages. I was able to make an ebay purchase with PayPal two days ago and a separate website purchase with PayPal this morning, so both sites work independently.

There have been a few post from buyers having problems paying with Pay Pal.

Same here. PayPal option is completely gone from eBay checkout, and there is no way to add it back.

Weirdly adding a cheap item to my cart got paypal to show up for whatever reason and the cheap item vanished from my cart when I was in checkout so I didn't even have to buy it and just got the item I wanted no idea why that worked for me

Same problem here. There is only one payment option available. using credit card

When this happens it's typically an issue with PayPal where the API connection from eBay to process payments isn't working - when that happens, eBay won't display it as a payment option because the service is not available.

I do see a lot of reports of a service disruption at PayPal on Down Detector right now, so that's the most likely explanation.

Unfortunately in that case, you'll just need to use a different payment method or wait until the connection is restored.

Same experience here and first time I've seen this....tried a few remedies mentioned in threads above to no avail....thought may have been associated with recent news threads regarding PayPal but news outlets mention nothing of the Ebay association, so maybe just a temp glitch.

But if it was only a PP issue there should be more than one payment option still available. Credit card option is the only one now, all others are missing.

Well it seems to have come back for me now. PayPal Status says everything is operational, but I'll keep that in mind for the future. Thanks!

I  WAS  TOLD  BY  EBAY...THAT  THEY'RE  NOT  USING  PAYPAL CREDIT  ANYMORE.   IS  THAT  TRUE  OR  WILL  IT  BE  FIXED  SO  I  CAN  USE  IT  AGAIN????

You may not be able to use PayPal credit for auctions or offers where a seller requires a payment method in advance, but you should still be able to use PayPal credit for buy-it-now purchases if the purchase qualifies.

I still see the PayPal credit logo in buy-it-now listings, indicating it is still available.
