eBay takes whatever photo you upload and reduces the PPI (pixels per inch) to 72. 72 is a standard that was created in the 1980s!!!! The problem is when eBay incorporates the zoom feature into their image viewer that is still trying to enlarge a 72 PPI image, it becomes a grainy, blurry mess. (See example below, from a 32" 4K monitor). Phone PPI's are in the 200s.
THERE ARE NO MONITORS IN USE TODAY WHERE 72 DPI IS ACCEPTABLE. eBay uses this 80's standard as it saves a lot of storage space, but it is very outdated.
Monitors of today have a far higher PPI resolution (dependent on the resolution and the actual screen size). Some of this in controlled in the OS, but at a minimum, 96 PPI should be used (and I would love something even higher.) Attached is a photo of PPI sizes based on standard monitors.
eBay, please invest in raising the PPI of your converted images so that your zoom function does a better job at showing 'actual' detail, and not the blurry, 'created' pixels your zoom tool is showing.

144 PPI would be ideal based on today's monitors/phones and resolution is only going up.

I wish they'd bring back the old zoom function.
This new one is horrible.
The whole point of zooming in is to see details better and all this new one does is make everything a blur and you can't zoom in on one place anyway, it just enlarges the image.
Do these people even USE the site?
