We are still having issues with getting a Sale Event + Markdown to work on our account. We will start a Sale Event + Markdown and after 4+ hours, the sale does not appear to be working. We see some of the listings have been marked down but the stats show:
- Promotion Sales 0
- Sales Lift 0
- Average Order Size 0
Usually when we start a sale, we immediately start seeing sales rolling in - the cha-chings are very consistent. However, we cannot seem to get the Sale Event + Markdown to catch and work for the last several months. According to our records, we started experiencing this issue starting July 1.
Since we cannot get the Sale Event + Markdown to work consistently, we have been offering Coupons. But do not see the same results when running a Sale Event + Markdown.
As you can see, we immediately delete data but keep historical data in a spreadsheet. So, we have historical data from the last year showing how well our Sale Event + Markdowns work.
Another thing to add, some individuals in the forums were saying they "copy" the Sale Event + Markdown when it does not work and that usually gets the sale to work. We did use that for a few times and it seemed to be a work around. Now, we have started 3 Sale Event+ Markdowns and none of them are working.
Is anyone else seeing this issue? Adding a few photos to show what we are seeing.

Hi @hk-resale & thanks for assisting @aqeeqsouq. What I'd like to do is get in touch with my technical team so we can dig into this further. At this time, I'm not sure of what they'll need to really dig into this, so once I find out, I'll be in touch.

Hi, @hk-resale. My tech team has closed the ticket as resolved, since they saw you were able to create a successful markdown sale. If the issue is still occurring, please reply with new screenshots, so I can reopen the ticket and escalate the issue.

elizabeth@ebay devon@ebay @aqeeqsouq We had a while where this issues seemed to be cleared up, but today it is happening again. For this use case, we did have a 10% coupon running for the last few days. I forgot to delete it before starting the 2 latest promotions. As I think there may be a conflict if you have a PUBLIC coupon running when trying to start a Sale Event + Markdown. Usually we do not even use the Public coupons in fear it will mess up the Sale Event + Markdown. Any help would be appreciated.
elizabeth@ebay devon@ebay We have been having an issue for the last few days starting on Thursday as posted in the below message. The Sale Event + Markdown is not working correctly. Not only have our sales dropped drastically, but the Sale Event + Markdown does not appear to be working.
1. Wednesday, October 19th, 2022 below. Sale Event + Markdown not working shows zeros under Promoted Sales & Promoted Lift columns.
2. Thursday, October 20th, 2022 below. Sale Event + Markdown is working but very few sales happening or being reported under Promoted Sales column.
4. You can see from our sales chart that sales have slowly ground to a halt. During that time, we have had the issues with the Sale Event + Markdown not working correctly.
