On Ebay Australia when I search goes to US Site?

Just noticed that when I go to search on ebay Australia its taking me to ebay US? I tried both Red Fox and Crome and log in and out, same issue. Worried since I have a number of items for sale that no one in Australia is seeing them because of this.

If you started on ebay.com.au and wound up on ebay.com, it would be helpful if you could indicate which precise link on which page is sending you to the wrong site.

Otherwise, there are many ways you could wind up on the wrong site. In some cases your browser's autocomplete will suggest the .com site if you have previously visited. Or a link from a search engine that may have inadvertently been bookmarked or used. In some cases a broken link on the AU site may send you to an error message on a US page where all links appearing are US links.

Try signing out of ebay.com and erasing your ebay.com cookies from your browser, and possibly your browser history.

When I start at ebay.co.uk and select either Collectibles or Sound & Vision from the pull down menu and search using a keyword, I remain on the UK site.

Here are links to those categories on the UK site:

I found this tip on the UK community board.  Use the shop by category filter to the LEFT of the search box then it does not redirect you.

This works on the Australia site too.

Similar problem in UK. Started two days ago on my ipad now also on laptop (chrome). Why does ebay insist on tinkering so much and messing things up? No other web site i use ever has these sorts of problems, they just cant leave things alone and never ever check properly if it is going to work! I think i have finally had enough of ebay, doing my head in.

Same thing is happening to me. This is new. Never happened before, and it's a deal breaker if ebay doesn't fix it. Why would I want scroll through thousands of overseas items, when I only intend buying from Australia? So frustrating.

Use the shop by category filter to the LEFT of the search box then it does not redirect you.  This actually works! Just tried it, and the problem was fixed. I'm now only seeing the Australian items. Hooray!

@scooterboy1959 The site search broke on the weekend so I am sure it won't be fixed until this next week.

You CAN search categories by using the category filters to the LEFT-hand side of the search box

@aopalhunter1945    I know that this was not intentional, hopefully, they will get the search function fixed on all the broken eBay sites quickly.

Try clearing your cookies to get rid of ebay.com cookies and then try the left-hand category search.

Hi, same thing again has been happening to me for the past few days, I've tried everything that has been suggested plus more, It makes no difference what PC, software, firewall, etc is used, still the same problem, mind you I am saving money as I can't see or buy items from the UK.

@low-emission

You are currently on the US ebay.com site.

Users in the UK and elsewhere are being redirected to the US site when selecting categories to search on the main eBay page or search results page without using any keywords. Avoid searching that way; you can add keywords and search, or else choose the categories using the "Shop by category" links on the left side of the search entry field.

Try erasing your ebay.com browser cookies -- that way if you are redirected again, you will be forced to sign in, making more likely you will notice when it happens.

Sign back in to the UK site here:

Firstly, saying "Avoid searching that way" isn't exactly helpful. There are time when I don't want to use key words. Also, even using the shop by category links on the left gets the same problem as soon as I filter the results. Basically I can't use a search to browse, only to find a specific item. Completely useless.
