OOPS err 310 too_many_redirects

I can't get to my All Selling page, my Buying Summary page, my listings. It took me all morning to print a label and send out a package, something that usually takes less than 5 minutes. I keep getting a page with the error message in the subject above. Very frustrating.

Something is wrong with the MY SUMMARY page. It hasn’t been working for me either. This has happened in the past when Ebay messes with the software. What a nuisance.  I click My Summary and it takes me to something called My Activity and it doesn’t fit the screen right you have to scroll side to side. I alway choose Classic its the only thing that is easy on buyers and sellers where you don’t have to jump thru so many screens.

That 'too many redirects' screen is a glitch that's been happening a lot, the last 4 days.  For me, it's happened on many different screens.  It's just a glitch, regardless of how annoying it is, it should go away soon.   If it really bothers you, I've heard it's more common Chrome, so you may try a different browser if it's impeding your functionality.  For me, it shows up, but then disappears in a few seconds.

Problem doesn't occur when I use eBay in MS Edge. I hope eBay fixes this soon because I haven't been new listing since it started.

This is usually caused by a misconfiguration of redirects at the web server’s end. But it can also be caused by your internet browser. I use the mobile app for listing so haven’t experienced this problem but I’m familiar with redirects, so thought I’d chime in.

What’s going on:

Hypothetical, but let’s say during one of the updates, eBay changed the URI (aka the location) for the “all selling” page you mentioned. The server would then be programmed to use a 308 redirect to send you to the new location. But your web browser is stubborn and wants to go to the old page instead (which no longer exists), while the server is trying to redirect the browser to the new location, which then creates this loop of redirects and you end up with that error 310.

The browser is saying “I want to go here” and the server is telling it, “no, we’ve moved, go here instead!”. The browser is like “don’t care, I’ll go where I want.” To which the server throws it’s hands up in despair and says “error 310! I quit.”

To find out what’s causing the error, try visiting the page using  a different browser like chrome, safari, Firefox, etc. Or try accessing that page from a different computer. If you can access the page from other browsers and devices, then your web browser is causing the problem.

Clean your browser cache and cookies.  (You can Google how to do this).  Now visit the page that’s giving you trouble. If that doesn’t work, and you use any browser add-on’s or extensions like a pop up blocker, disable it.

If none of that works, the problem is at the web servers end. Let eBay know so they can do nothing about it.
