Okay, long story short, I won an item on an auction. However, I couldn't pay for the item when the overall cost turned out to be a bit more expensive than what I thought. So I contacted the seller and told them that I wanted to cancel the item and they did so.
But here is where my problems begin. Even though the seller cancelled my winning bid, my purchase history still shows that I won the item and is committed to paying for the item, my cart still has the item and tells me that I need to pay for the item even though the seller has cancelled my bid. Because if this, I can't seem to remove the item from my cart and it always affects my checkout since it says that I need to check my payment details or use a different card even though my current card is good to go.
I just don't know what to do anymore since I am at the end of my rope with this whole mess.
Any help would be appreciated.

Then the order has not been cancelled yet. As bennotbill said, the seller might be waiting until they are able to cancel for non-payment instead of cancelling immediately as buyer requested.
If the seller does not cancel the transaction it will eventually time out after about a month.
In the meantime, while in your shopping cart make sure you click the link that says "pay only this seller" while buying other items. That link exists on the website. I've never checked how that works on the app.

To confirm: you got a message from eBay saying the transaction was cancelled (not just from the seller)?
How many days ago was this?

Yes. I messaged the seller on July 9 asking them to cancel the order. I waited a few days before messaging them again yesterday, only for them to reply back that they have cancelled the order. That said, I have not received an email from eBay regarding this whole situation.

I expect you will be getting that in another day or two.
As it looks like the seller is waiting for the NPB four days.

I see. As it turns out, the seller is having issues on their end as well since they told me that the order was stuck in his awaiting payment box. So more than likely the two of you are more than likely are onto something.

Hopefully, the seller will cancel citing 'Buyer requested'. At the very worst, it might be cancelled citing 'Buyer didn't pay'... and a couple of those strikes will affect your buying abilities for a whole year. I hope it turns out okay for you. Good luck.

I hope so as well. I mean, it seems like that we are both at an agreement on cancelling the order. I just hope that it all works out. I would hate to get a strike because of something that's out of my control/hands.

How did the item end up being more than you thought it would be? You did the bidding yourself did you not? And if your state charges sales tax you are aware of that too, right? Now this seller had a whole auction week wasted and will have to start over. Think before you bid. Really think.

What I mean is that I thought that I would have free shipping when I bid on the item. When it turned out that the free shipping was only a local pickup and saw what the actual cost of shipping was, that was when I realized that the item was more than what I thought.
