Not allowed to use "Ud*my" brand or name?

Hey guys, a while back a bunch of my listings got removed by 'Ude*y, inc', due to a supposed 'copyright violation'. After contacting the company myself, they explained that 3 of the 6 listings were removed due to the fact that 'u*emy' was mentioned in the listing. The other 3 listings are a different story. Anyway, I just don't think that sounds right. I see the name everywhere on ebay listings, forums, on all sorts of junk. Is there something I'm missing? Here's the exact email they sent to me:

"Hi Caiden,

I checked with my colleague who handled the take down.  We asked eBay to remove any item that had "Udemy" in the title or link.  Some of these may have been Lynda.com courses.  In any event, we do not allow you to use the Udemy brand or name.
Thanks for confirming you will no longer sell Udemy courses.
Best,
Udemy Copyright Team"

Can anybody clear this up for me please? Thanks for your time

Never heard of them. What were you selling?

Caiden, likely what is really going on is Udemy doesn't want member accounts or Udemy access/content resold outside of their partner/affiliate programs.

Using "copyright" as the reason is simply the path of least resistance when dealing with sites, including eBay, who are accustomed to processing DCMA takedown notices, to achieve that result.

So the OP was selling things they contractually agreed not to sell. Not good.

Thanks for your reply. Sorry for not being more clear. They removed 6 listings. 3 of which were udemy accounts, and I recognize that it is a copyright infringement. The other 3 though, is what I'm questioning about. They were lynda accounts, not udemy accounts. Udemy is not the rights owner of lynda, so why did they remove my lynda account listings? That's what I'm wondering. I asked udemy myself, and they said that I can't use the udemy brand or name (I had udemy in the title). What does that mean anyway? I see people putting brand names in their title all the time, that they aren't the owners of.

This makes no sense. If it wasn’t Udemy, why did you use it in the title?
