I never know where to post things.
For about five, six days I've been getting a sign in page with a new design every couple of attempts. You would think that ebay would mention a new sign-in page design if they did it but with ebay who knows. I can't find anything about it anywhere. This one has the facekindle and googal sign in on the right side and has a 'next page' format - no place to enter password till you click on a next button. I don't use it - I keep on clicking my 'my ebay' bookmark till I get the old design. Have called cs and they said there is no new design, beta or otherwise, running around.
So what's up?

Here is an old pre-Facebook sign in page that seems to work better for folks who have issues with the newer page(s):
https://signin.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll
When eBay changed the sign in page last year I do not think they made any sort of announcement -- it just appeared. Perhaps they are rolling out another new design, but I have not actually seen it yet.

OP here. I described the new page wrong - I said 'on the right side' implying two columns. That's the old ... I mean classic one. The new one has everything but a place to put in your password in one column.
To eburtonlab - I don't have a problem with goo or face, I just sign into ebay on ebay. But just as I don't open emails from unknown addresses, I don't sign in on a unknown page even if it seems ebay is showing it to me. Old school I guess.
Now that I think about it, ebay does just change a page's design without any warning.

Not signing in to unknown or questionable pages is prudent -- I cannot fault you for that.
The switch to the "Facebook" sign-in page caused issues for many folks; many did not realize that the Facebook and Google sign-ins were optional alternative methods of signing in, and resented that eBay was linking their accounts. Others tried signing in using one of those methods and inadvertently wound up creating an entirely new eBay account. And for some folks, the new sign-in page did not work at all; for some of those users, finding an old pre-Facebook sign-in page link was the only way to access their account.

One possible workaround that should not compromise your security: if eBay is giving you a sign-in page with a URL that looks like this:
https://signin.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?SignIn&ru=
or something similar to that -- try deleting everything after the ".dll". That way you can be reasonably certain that you are dealing with an actual eBay page.
When I do that I wind up on the old pre-Facebook sign-in page.

Ebay can send me nineteen messages for nineteen consecutive days about some ebay bucks deal that I've already used but can't send one about having a test sign in page going around. They do the not tell anyone anything and they do the unasked for changing things bit all the time - taking away the 'relist as fixed price' from the unsold list, the bulk re-scheduler from scheduled listings.
I remember the 'after the .dll' page. Shows you how much I know - I never understood 'sign in with google' - Just found out people have google accounts that they sign into.

It only counts as a double-blind test if neither the doctor nor the guinea pig patient knows who is getting the placebo and who is getting the new drug.
I have noticed that eBay can be incredibly tight-lipped when it comes to certain site changes and issues, when a simple announcement would prevent a great deal of confusion and wasted effort trying to understand and troubleshoot what turns out to be a planned change.
One example of many:

As the boss used to say "The computer speeds up the transaction by an extra half hour."
I guess that the reason some of the invoices I've sent don't show a shipping option offer in the listing. And as we 'say' what shipping options we offer - as in type it out - If I was a buyer and was going to pick the slow/cheap option that now is not being shown to me, would I be having a good buyer experience?
But at least ebay is fair - they don't tell us beforehand about most changes, even the ones we might truly like.
