I don't know how everyone else feels about the new eBay store format, but I believe it be dismal failure. First, the search box is now at the top of the page and looks exactly like the standard eBay-wide search box. When a search is run, instead of the returns being shown within your store, the returns are viewed like the standard eBay search and now the buyer is out of your store with no explanation about how to return to your store. There is also a button that allows the buyer to see searches site wide...this will also take them out of your store. Secondly, the "sale" button has been removed from the first page of your store. In the past, a buyer could search the items you have on sale by clicking on this button...all of your sale items were then displayed. So, not only has the "sale" button disappeared, but the round "sale" icon that appeared on your individual listings is also gone and the price, discount, and sale price are not highlighted as they used to be. On the one hand, eBay is pushing all of us to get rid of dead inventory and now they take away the tools to accomplish that goal.
I cannot see any changes that have been made to the new store format that actually bring any valuable changes. This is another high-handed change brought about by managers and IT people that are not retailers and don't actually use the site. Unfortunately, the sellers will have to pay the price for their mistakes. I would encourage all sellers to contact eBay and urge them to either return to the previous format (which worked perfectly fine and only needed small adjustments) or update the new format bring back the old search method and sale functions.
