Lost Ability to "Swipe" Away Page

My ability to "swipe" away an item page is gone. When in a search and then click on a listing, it opens a new tab at the top of the page instead of opening a window (not sure if I am using the correct terms here!). Then instead of swiping to get back to search, I have to go to the top of the screen and "X" the item page out. 

What is the purpose of this change?? Just slows down my search and adds another click!

Is this just part of their new "search" set-up?  Maybe another beta-test? If so NOT LIKING this at all!

Anyone else experiencing this?

When asking for help about a user experince,  name the deivce, operating system, application first.

Thanks for reading! Sorry for the confusing explanation. I explained it the best way I know how!:). I am using a Apple desk top and using a Mouse Pad instead of a regular mouse. I am able to "swipe" away my pages (no clicks). 

Anyway, when they put me in the "add to list" drop down Beta test (That's on another thread) I lost the ability to "swipe" away my pages. It opened up a completely new tab. Luckily for me, I now have the old "add to list" view back and the "swiping" problem went away with it!:)  So no more problems.
