Listings filters not working

When I search for a given item on eBay and bring up multiple results, the filter in the top right-hand corner, which defaults to 'Best Match', has stopped working if I try to select one of the alternatives, such as 'Lowest price' or 'Newly listed', so the list of results will stay filtered by 'Best Match'.  What's going on?

Thanks

I do not have Safari on my machine (a PC), so I am not as familiar with it as I am with other browsers. I believe that clearing history is distinct from clearing the cache, though, as it is on other browsers.

Here is a link that deals with clearing Safari's cache specifically:

https://www.businessinsider.com/how-to-clear-cache-on-safari-browser

If you have already cleared the cache and found it did not help, you might try deleting your eBay cookies.

Although it is possible that eBay has changed something that has stopped Safari from working correctly, if that were the case I would expect to see many more complaints -- so a problem with cache or cookies seems more likely, at least so far.

Are you able to change the sort order if you go to the Advanced Search page?

Changing the sort order once might be enough to get things working again on the standard search results page; if not, try searching using another browser to see if the problem happens there, too. If not, go back to your original browser and try deleting your browser cache, and possibly eBay cookies.

Thanks!  I tried everything you suggested, and it looks like a new Safari browser issue, possibly related to my OS, as the sort order works fine on Chrome, but won't work even after clearing my Safari history (though it will work via the Advanced settings)

That worked; thank you so much!

Incidentally, the reason I thought there might be a different problem with Safari is because Apple stopped updating my version and the related OS some time ago, and it's already been publicised that certain plug-ins will stop working in 2020.  So even if eBay or other websites don't change anything, I'm anticipating issues further down the line.  Whether that will make me buy a new Apple laptop (which may end up being easier and more efficient than updating the OS, which in turn will mean buying at least some new software packages), I haven't yet decided

Thanks again

You are very welcome -- glad to hear you were able to get Safari working.

Although lack of OS updates can be a problem, if you can keep your browser updated (or use a different browser if that becomes strictly necessary), you might be able to keep using your current system, or at least put off a hardware upgrade until a time of your choosing rather than being forced to make a change. Good luck!

I am having the same issue but it is only recent. and it is happening across multiple devices and browsers so I do not thing it is an issue with our computers. I have a windows 10 pc and 2 Macs and it does it on any browser on any system.

they must have updated something and broken it.

I could understand if one browser was doing it, but on multiple systems and multiple browsers, that to me is an issue with the site.

and I have cleared all browser cache and even installed a browser I have never used and same issue.

Found something that may be part of it. it works fine if I am not signed in to my account on any browser, but if I sign in, it no longer functions.

Strange phenomenon.

@w124mbz

This thread is not related to the current search issue (mid April 2020).

The current problem is not a browser issue.

There does seem to be a problem with some searches returning many results but not showing links to further pages at the bottom of the page, or problems with filters and menus, possibly related to using a price range.

Try editing the search URL and change the "ebay.com/sch/" to "ebay.com/dsc/" and see if that helps. Then bookmark the new search if it works. Or try changing the sort order on the Advanced Search page.
