Ok, not exactly answering your question per se...
I use my laptop for listings, but I click "add pics from mobile device" on my laptop, and it triggers the notification in my phone so i can use my phone to upload pics thru the app, then go back on my laptop to finish the listing.
This works perfectly fine for me. I haven't listed using the app exclusively in a long time. I only upload pics thru the app but do the listing on my phone, and i sometimes revise listings thru my phone.
So idk if it makes any difference but what im describing works just fine for me (android phone/app by the way)
