I am currently using the Wonderlister tool since Turbolister was discontinued by eBay. Items were being listed successfully until May 2022. Items that I had successfully listed before are now coming back with the same 240 error: The item cannot be listed or modified. The title and/or description may contain improper words, or the seller may be in violation of eBay policy.
After receiving the errors, I again verified the items by sending them to eBay and they all came back successfully with no errors. I then tried to use the eBay item lister on one of the items that couldn’t be listed. I cut and pasted the title and description to the eBay item lister and it listed successfully.
Wonderlister sends the same exact information when it is verified and when it is submitted to be
listed so why does eBay deny my items when I try to list them?
I have contacted eBay support and they tell me the problem is with the Wonderlister listing tool but that makes no sense because the same information is being sent to eBay and it is eBay that is coming back with the error.
The Wonderlister support person even found this issue on developer.ebay.com. The article was dated November 28, 2020. I have heard that bots are also used to search for 240 errors on listing requests.
What can be done to so I can successfully list my items again and prevent these false errors from coming up in the future?
