If you are unable to sign in due to repeated Captcha issues, try another browser or a private or incognito browser window.
Repeated Captcha issues can sometimes be caused by a browser not updating or retaining cookies correctly, or by changes in IP-address.
Make sure you are using the correct password -- particularly if you have more than one eBay account -- as entering the wrong password will require additional verification.
You may be able to avoid a sign-in loop by signing in via social media if you have previously set that up in your account.
If you are able to sign in to the community pages, you may be able to reach your My eBay pages through a link under your profile icon or icon placeholder in the upper right.
Some users seem to be able to get around sign-in problems by using the app to change the account password, then signing in with the new password on a desktop.

I just watched a you tube video that finally gave me the right advice and I now have left the endless Captcha loop that started yesterday. I went into settings, then Privacy and Security - cleared all browsing history, Download history, Cookies etc and it worked. I rebooted went to ebay - ENTERED my password and went to my watchlist - selected the item that I wanted to "sell similar" and it let me create a listing instead of getting the Captcha over and over.

eburton...you obviously have quite the technical background. But for me, I clear all the cookies, cache, etc when I close out from ebay. The amount of tracking that ebay does is just too much for old folks like me. All I can say is thank god for ad blocking software. Is it really necessary to have all of the sponsored ads showing up on my listings? Do I really care about some memorial day sale? I could go on and on, but coming from a retail background...the last place you want to inconvenience a customer is when they are trying to give you money. Make the site too cluttered, too confusing, it becomes overwhelming, and people just leave taking their dollars elsewhere.

Not talking about the loop, just about endless boats, every time I log in. I guess should count my blessings though - they could go to 2FV (knock on wood).

endless boats, every time I log in.
That can happen if you are erasing cookies each session, using a cleaner program that erases browser history, or if you are changing your IP address each time (such as if you are using a VPN). If not, that might be a sign that your browser is having problems saving cookies -- perhaps your eBay cookie is corrupt. In that case, manually erasing your eBay cookies once might help.
I rarely see Captcha at all since I rarely sign out. When I have to diagnose Captcha issues, I have to erase my eBay cookies to get a Captcha test to appear at all.

By doing that you guarantee that you will face a Captcha test the next time you sign in.

I agree. I use my ad blocker's element hiding tool to block things like the rows of suggested sponsored listings, or the large image tiles that appear on the saved searches page. I find simpler, less cluttered pages to be much easier to work with -- more of the information I want to see is displayed on the screen, with less need to scroll past unwanted features.

I have used eBay for 19 years and for quite a few years I have used Chrome. I used to use a PC and never had any trouble, and for 14 years have had Macs and no problems. With Safari it is still straightforward, but I Iike to use Chrome and have the ability to use both browsers sometimes when bidding on an item to have a back up bid ready in place as an auction gets towards the end.
Since last week this repeating hKaptcha just will not stop repeating in Chrome. I have cleared all my history on the browser and changed my password. The hKaptchre shows an error every time that you use it in Chrome and you go around in circles I even tried using my mobile number to sign-in and that failed as well as, it claims the number is wrong. It is not.
I have signed into the community using my usual sign-in and password in Chrome and it's fine so, I say it's totally down to eBay to sort out their software.
I have reported it to eBay, including writing to Murray Lambell, the Vice President in charge of eBay UK , but eBay always seem incapable of dealing with errors caused on their side. EBay takes up a lot of time with all this signing-in and constant checks so, the least that they could do is have software that works.

If you are able to sign in using an incognito Chrome browser window, try clearing your cache "for all time" in Chrome, and try manually deleting just your individual eBay cookies -- deleting all cookies may not be sufficient if an eBay cookie is corrupt. If that does not help, try temporarily disabling add-ons.
Verify that your browser is not set to block cookies or third-party cookies, and that JavaScript is enabled.

If this were happening to all Chrome users, or even a significant fraction of them, one would expect to see more discussion of this issue than has been the case thus far.

happens to me ALL the time in Chrome on a Mac. Cookies, etc., clearing does not solve. Ebay is programmed by chimpanzees on acid.

Every time you erase your eBay cookies you ensure you will go through verification the next time you sign in.
Try a different browser, and try not clearing your cookies and not changing your IP-address (that means no VPN or hotspot).

Thank you, Thrill-Seeker for speaking up. While I am human, I'm one that has difficulty with captchas. Why do I have to do them repeatedly as a repeat customer who always uses the same computer in the same location? This is NOT security. It's something else. And not a nice something else. Very effective way for ebay to disenchant repeat customers. Diane 1959, thank you for the route to getting this to stop, which I just saw. Go Girl!

You should NOT have to do that garbage in order to log in and see that none of your items sold still. Ebay in 2024 is a **bleep** stain of what it was like 8 years ago.

Insanely impossible Capcha for people with vision impairments. One ADA class action will soon be next. In the meantime, I will buy from Amazon.
