Can anyone advise me what to do for thumbnails to start loading again? I use both Chrome and Firefox. Its not about clearing cache or updating browsers. All is up to date. On Firefox the thumbnails do not load for my Watch List and on Chrome they do not load for my Purchase History. Very annoying. Thanks.

Do you see the thumbnails using either browser on your Summary page?
The thumbnails on those pages generally have an address like this:
https://i.ebayimg.com/images/i/233243037297-0-1/s-l140/p.jpg
If you can see thumbnails on other pages like in the search results, that would seem to rule out network or firewall issues.
Search results thumbnails are of a slightly different form, though:

An overly aggressive ad blocking rule might take out some images, but usually that would not leave behind a broken image link.
If those pages and thumbnails load correctly in an incognito or private window of your browser, I would definitely try signing out of eBay and erasing cache and eBay cookies again in both browsers, though.

So far this is not happening for me today in Chrome. YMMV.

I have the same issue on ALL browsers in Windows 10. I have tried all the suggested solutions. This is a particular problem in store search -- I have to open every listing to see images.
Please note that there are forum threads about this issue dating back from 2015 and it is still unsolved.
I have seen some forum helpers suggest that this means the item is still being indexed, but how old an item is doesn't correlate with my experience (unless they're still indexing after being listed for five days). I have accepted third party cookies. whitelisted ebay in terms of ad-blocking. etc.
I have literally bought and sold thousands of items on eBay (more buying than selling, sadly) and have no intention of stopping altogether, but these days I have to need/want something very badly indeed to choose it over Amazon and other vendors.
I wish eBay's users had some influence over developers' actions.
Apart from the issue of AWOL thumbails, it seems to me they generally prize a clean layout above and beyond the ability of shoppers to find and bid on the items they wish to purchase in a timely fashion (in other words, before they give go and hit Amazon!).
I seriously doubt shareholders share developers preference for sleek design over sales.

If you are experiencing the same issue using multiple browsers, that would tend to rule out most browser issues (unless all are using add-ons in common) and would point to a network or firewall issue of some kind, particularly if you have already ruled out your antivirus suite.
If possible, try another computer on the same network, or a computer on another network and see if you get the same results.
I have seen a similar situation that was remedied by rebooting an ethernet switch.

I have been having the same problem since a few weeks ago. Thumbnails do not load ANYWHERE on eBay, the homepage, search results, and my eBay are all affected. It happens on ALL browsers, I ruled out both the antivirus and firewall because the problem persists with them both disabled. It is not the network as my mother, on an identical Dell PC has no issues.
This is obviously eBay's end

Do you have the same problem if you are not signed in to your eBay account? Or if you sign in to a different account? If not, that might indicate a problem with your eBay account.
Any problems if you are signed in to your account on a different computer? If not, that would point to a problem with your original computer, though I am not entirely sure what that problem might be.

This is a ebay problem not a computer problem, duh

It certainly is odd, then, that thumbnails are loading fine for most other users, including me. I wonder if there is a reason for that.
Oh well, good luck with your "ebay problem".
