I'm having issues with the security measure, the page doesn't load correctly and I can't proceed

Hi, I'm having problems with the security measure where it asks me to "verify yourself to continue". Supposedly it should load some images like a captcha or something, but it doesn't load anything and doesn't let me continue the operation (wich is contacting eBay by mail through the form). The brown dots just keep changing and nothing ever loads. I tried with Firefox (version: 85.0.1 64x) and Microsoft Edge (88.0.705.63). Same result with both browsers. It seems a technical problem. How can I be helped in this case if I can't even contact eBay?

This might not help since you have tried on two different browsers with the same result but have you tried to clear your cookies/cache and sign in again?

Right now I followed this steps:

1. Reboot my system

2. Disable all Firefox addons

3. Clear all browser history (cookies/chache and everything)

4. Close the browser

5. Open the browser and go to eBay, I choose the cookies I wanted, so I didn't chose the 'accept them all' option, and logged in

6. Tried to contact eBay through some form that they have, I fill everything it's just title and question, mark the box to send a copy to my email and click send.

7. Then it enters this step of 'security measure' and I can't proceed.

 

PS: Sorry for clicking 'as a solution'. It was a mistake and unfortunatly eBay doesn't have an option to correct the mistake right after you make it.

 

Also sorry for my bad English. Not my native language. And thank you for trying to help.

 

PS2: I found the 'this is not solution' option.

Yeah...I had a feeling it would not work since it was happening on two different browsers but it was worth a shot - sometimes this is the easiest solutions for many glitches that we see on these boards.

 

I am hoping that @eburtonlab will swing by soon and offer up a possible solution for you.  He is our resident wizard when it comes to technical glitches and the like.

 

...he might want to strangle me for putting him on a high pedestal but he ROCKS in techincal! 😁

Thank you. I will wait for eburtonlab or somebody from eBay. Or maybe eBay have a email I can send like a normal one from my email provider like any email?

I notice you are registered in Portugal. Are you trying to sign in to ebay.com, or some other country site such as ebay.es?

 

If you are using a VPN or non-standard network, that can cause problems.

 

If you are choosing which cookies you accept, which cookies are you not accepting? It is possible that by rejecting third-party cookies, you are preventing some verification procedure from running.

 

If you are using Firefox, try disabling Enhanced Tracking Protection on eBay using the shield icon to the left of the page address.

 

If you are able to sign in using a private or incognito browser window, that might indicate a problem with a corrupt or blocked cookie. Try erasing just your eBay cookies manually in that case.

 

If you are routinely clearing all your cookies, you will likely have to go through verification again each time you sign in.

 

Or try a different browser -- preferably the latest version of a popular browser that you do not normally use and one that has no add-ons or extensions installed.

 

Are you having problems when trying to sign in, initially? Or are you trying to do something else and getting another sign-in prompt? In the first case, you may be able to find a different sign-in link to use; in the latter you may have fewer options.

Hi, yes it is ebay.com

 

No VPN. Normal internet connection.

 

I tried with my preferences and with 'accept them all', doesn't work also. Tried this with Edge.

 

I will try with Chrome now, will give feedback later.

 

No problems at signin (login), no verification at signin (login). Just at emailing eBay. I'm just trying to email eBay because I want to list something and I need to add the Automatic Payment Method, wich I chose the checking account, now they ask for something we do not use in EU (in fact the bank says no accounts in Portugal have that number, as it is now used in EU, here it is IBAN and BIC SWIFT) wich is the Routing Number. So I click on "Need help? Contact us." and I fill the two fields and send the message and it redirects me to this verification process I can't proceed with.

 

I'm amazed at eBay, such a old and reputable company, don't have proper options for EU residents to fill the bank info with EU bank info. How can I give a number of my bank account if in my country they don't even have that Routing Number. How many people affected by this? Or am I doing anything wrong?

You may want to contact eBay via social media -- there may be another solution to your automatic payment method issue. You cannot be the first user from the EU to have this problem.

Exactly. But I can't find an option to chose country of bank account or something.

I think my IP is being held by some SPAM filter (wich eBay has active, I dunno), and that's the problem (I think). I should be able to complete captcha and confirm I'm human, but for some weird reason, captcha is not working. Will try to reset my IP adress, to see if it solves the problem (SPAM filter). I'm curious also. lol

 

If no, I will contact eBay through social media (they don't really provide an email or phone number?) to link my bank account with eBay and start selling and buying on eBay.
