How many times do you need to report something to get a result?

https://www.ebay.com/itm/WALKAROO-XTREME-Steel-Balance-Stilts-with-Height-Adjustable-Vert-Lifters-by...

I reported this for several months.

Its not a ham radio amplifier.

Whats ebay's problem? They're too lazy to remove stuff?

more likely too many reports......I sent a message to the seller.   That might do some good........I doubt he means the item to be in that category, unless Ham radio people are known for buying alot of stilts.

Here is another listing that is a chronic category abuser. Note they are both still listed in ham radio after multiple reports.

I've been reporting several site bugs for up to two years now and they still remain unfixed, so I'd expect that removing mis-categorized items would take decades, though, as that old saying goes, "Apathy is forever." So, maybe never. At least someone bought the daises.

The previous Daisies link/item was sold, but that highlights a much more serious issue with these Daises listings: "This is a fan made set... ...This set will be delivered in white paper sleeves with no artwork on them."

Interesting things about the Walkeroo listings are that three out of six of the seller IDs indicate "Israel" as their location, and that somehow six "unrelated" sellers managed to mis-categorize the same item at the same time, AND managed to exactly and precisely write identical listing titles, and except for a couple of different templates, idential listings. Most likely all six seller IDs are the same entity.

Great observations.

This person has complete disregard.

I'm really wondering why the trolling is so persistent and unpunished.

Its been 24 weeks of this.

Miscategorized items are an annoyance. One that eBay is apparently not very interested in dealing with.

I avoid miscategorized items by rarely browsing categories. Instead, I create a very broad search (perhaps limited to a category, perhaps not) and then add exclusions to eliminate the items I am not interested in. I then bookmark the search, and save all the bookmarks in a convenient folder on a browser toolbar. When I want to check eBay, I right click on the folder and "open in all tabs" -- doing all my searches at once, then going through each tab to see what is new. Periodically, I refine my searches, updating the bookmarks.

If I wanted to do a general search of the "Ham & Amateur Radio Amplifiers", I might start with a search like this, using "-walkaroo" as my only search (exclusion) term:

https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2334524.m570.l1313.TR1.TRC0.A0.H0.X-walkaroo.TRS0...

For narrow categories, eBay will let you use an exclusion as your first search term, but if you tried a general search like that, it would require you to add some positive search terms.

One of the benefits of using a search rather than directly browsing a category is that you can have much more control over the filtering and the number of items-per-page.

"Miscategorized items are an annoyance. One that eBay is apparently not very interested in dealing with."

eBay would lose insertion fees if they cracked down on this, but eBay doesn't seem to be very interested in dealing with pretty much anything...

For example this SCAM LISTING, which is a complete clone of one of my listings; photos, description, links to my other listings, and three commonlaw-trademarked slogans...

https://www.ebay.com/itm/332973096290  (scammer's listing)

https://www.ebay.com/itm/143027980838  (my listing)

I've filed VeRO and DMCA claims, and telephone-reported to eBay's "Trust & Safety" (LMAO!) department that most if not all of that seller's listings are cloned-listing SCAMS, but NOTHING has been done by eBay. Several "buyers" have messaged saying that they've reported the listing, and I've informed several of the other victimized sellers who claimed to also be taking action.

Clearly, if eBay doesn't give a hoot about this, then category spamming is massive nothingburger to them.

That sucks. Selling on eBay is tough enough without having to deal with scammers copying your listings and undercutting your prices.

Oddly, I can see the listing you linked (although your posted link above has an extra couple of characters at the end -- I think that's a board bug when links are on a line with other text):

https://www.ebay.com/itm/332973096290

I can view the item, and even put in my cart. Yet when I view the items for sale of the "seller", it does not appear among them. And when I search for the listing using the exact title, I see your item and one other competitor, but not this one. Perhaps the listing is in the process of being removed.

The account appears real, with recent selling feedback -- though mostly for very inexpensive toys. It appears the account was recently hijacked.

I would think that a listing with a 5 day handling time and a delivery estimate in March would dissuade folks from buying, but seven people so far have "bit".

I have reported the listing, too, for what that's worth.

It takes 1 report from each of multiple unique users-multiple reports by 1 user counts as 1 report as it may just be sour grapes

This is a user to user board not eBay employees.
