How many times do I have to verify myself?

I go in and out of my listings page dozens of times during the day. But every time eBay not only asks me to enter my user name and password but also to verify myself with the stupid puzzle game.  I am sick and tired of it. I am sure eBay's bots have my user name, password and their connection to my computer. Do they think that every time I want to see my listings, someone else has hijacked my computer? Come on! It's frustrating and time consuming. And I don't have that much time to spare.

Does anyone else have this situation, and if so, how do they feel about it? Clicking "Keep me signed in" doesn't do any good.

Verification is typically used to prevent bots from attempting to sign in to your account -- by proving that you can recognize images you demonstrate that you are not a bot.

Sometimes when eBay changes the sign-in process, it causes problems for some users; sometimes those problems are due to using an old browser or obsolete  cookies.

If you are having issues signing in or getting stuck in a verification loop or stuck with a verification page that does not work, here are my general sign-in tips and recommendations. Not sure if this helps with random sign-in requests when going to your listing pages, but for what it is worth:

Make sure you are allowing the sign-in page to load completely before attempting to sign in -- others have indicated that attempting to sign in before the page has loaded can cause problems.

Make sure your browser is set to accept cookies, or try another browser. If you delete your cookies, you will likely have to sign in and go through verification again. Some browsers seem to require more verification than others; try signing in and out more than once to see if it requires verification the second time around. Make sure your browser allows javascript. VPNs can also cause sign-in issues, so try disabling yours if you use one.

If you still have problems, when you get to a sign-in page again, delete everything in the URL after the .dll part, so that the address looks like this:

https://signin.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll

Then hit 'enter' to load that page -- that should give you the old pre-Facebook sign-in. Once you have signed in there, if eBay gives you another new sign-in page or verification page, click on the eBay logo to go to the main page, and you should be signed in at that point, at least until eBay changes things again.

In addition to the "keep me signed in" checkbox on the sign-in page, there is another checkbox in your account site preferences -- it might be worth checking that setting, or unchecking, saving, rechecking and saving again.
