GSP issue

Am trying to sell a soft trumpet carrying case. I have GSP box checked on the listing on MY end, but it does not show up as enabled on the BUYERS’ end. 

Have had interest from several people from overseas, but really don’t want to sell this except through GSP. 

Thoughts????

That listing only shows shipping to USA.

In order to offer GSP, you have to select it when you create the listing.  If you want to add it now, you will need to END the listing.  I don't know if you can then go to your UNSOLD and use SELL SIMILAR and select the GSP at the top.  You can try it.  If it doesn't work, then you will have to create a new listing from scratch.

Thanks for your reply, but you misunderstood.  I DID select the GSP by checking that box when I created the listing. For some unknown reason, it DOES NOT SHOW UP TO BUYERS as my having done so.  Nor did it tell me when I checked the GSP box, that my item did not qualify for the GSP based on the category it was listed in-which I would expect it would.

Checked on of your other listings and it shows GSP, but the trumpet case one does not.

Musical Instruments is NOT in the restricted list, but it also says the list is not necessarily complete. However it does say
"Note: This is not a full list of unsupported categories. If the category you're listing in doesn't support the Global Shipping Program, you'll see an alert when you create your listing."

Can't help with real world experience on that - have avoided GSP like the plague since it first rolled out, and not going to take a chance enabling it to test to see if listing flow flags that category 🙂

How do you know (or are you assuming) it doesn't qualify for GSP because of a category restriction? From a call eBay to CS? Received an email?

Can't see anything about the item - not size, weight, category - that would make it ineligible.

Try turning off GSP for this listing then select to ship internationally by your self to the list of countries you can print a international label for. It will cost your buyer a lot less in shipping cost as you are making them pay to ship the item to the global shipping center then they just print the international label and mail it again. Also you really get no seller protection with the program. If a buyer files a claim ebay closes it out in their favor no questions asked. Then Ebay also lets them keep the item so you end up losing the money the buyer paid, you have to reimburse the shipping cost, then you do not get the option to have the item returned. This really opens you up to return scams.

Ebay likes to make it sound like you have a lot of protections but if you read their policies fine print you really do not. Plus they say it opens you to tons of buyers but usually the higher cost of their program verses shipping it your self you actually lose buyers. If you want to ship it your self you just click accept on the prefilled out customs form and print the label. If you go into the post office then you fill out the simple form then purchase the label. It also increases the handle time as your buyer has to wait for the item to get to their center rather than ship out right away.
